What I offer

With more than 20 years as an educator, 12 years working in UK Higher Education and over a decade of conducting artistic and academic research, I have a wealth of skills and experience that I can offer. If you would like to discuss any of the areas below, please get in touch, via the Contact page of the website.

Workshops/Specialist Teaching

I have taught theatre, performance, artistic and practice research, critical and cultural theory in secondary schools and at universities for both undergraduate and postgraduate students for over 20 years. I have also delivered a range of teacher and researcher training for educational professionals. I have particular specialisms in creative technologies, digital and intermedial performance, soundwalk creation, as well as processes and practices of artistic and practice research. If you are interested in me delivering individual classes or short courses, do get in touch.

Artistic Research: mentorship, consultation and training

I am an experienced doctoral supervisor and have mentored a number of individual postdoctoral researchers, specifically focusing on the conducting of artistic or practice research. Due to my expertise in this area, I have also been invited to offer training for staff and postgraduate researchers at a range of Higher Education institutions including the University of Essex, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, De Montfort University and University of Kent. If you are interested in either individual mentoring for artistic/practice research projects or training for a group of researchers, contact me for a conversation.

Sound Walk Creation

I am an award-winning sound walk creator and have made a number of sound walks in recent years for a variety of spaces and contexts. Sound walks are a wonderful way to encourage visitors to a space, event or landscape. They can be used to raise awareness of environmental issues, connect with the history of a place and help residents to get to know and love their local spaces. Sound walks can also be used to gather people’s memories and reflections of particular place and time and share them with the wider community, making them a great tool for heritage and community arts projects. If you are interested in commissioning a sound walk for a particular place, event or context, get in touch.
